The Dean of Manchester’s Crosland Fund assists people living in Greater Manchester who are facing financial hardship or distress.

What can grants be used for?

One off grants of money can be made to pay for items, services or facilities to ease financial hardship or distress. 

Unfortunately, grants cannot be made towards meeting the costs of rates, taxes or other public funds. Grants cannot be repeated or renewed on any occasion in any case.

Who can apply for a Crosland Fund Grant?

Applications must be must via organisations which help those in need, such as the Citizen’s Advice Bureau or housing support for example. We are unable to accept applications directly from individuals. 

How often are Crosland Fund grants awarded?

Funds are usually allocated on a quarterly basis in March, June, September and December and applications should be submitted by the end of the previous month.  

In 2023, applications and awards will be made as follows:

  • Apply by 5pm on June 30
  • Grant decisions made in July
  • Apply by 5pm on August 31
  • Grant decisions made in September
  • Apply by 5pm on November 30
  • Grant decisions made in December
