Advent and Christmas Services at Manchester Cathedral

The Christmas season is upon us once more! Here’s a list of all the special services we’ll be holding at Manchester Cathedral over Advent and Christmas 2023, in addition to our regular services.

 

The First Sunday of Advent - Sunday 3 December

Sung Eucharist - 10.30am

Advent Conversations - 12.15pm

Advent procession - 6.30pm

 

The Second Sunday of Advent - Sunday 10 December

Sung Eucharist - 10.30am

Advent Conversations - 12.15pm

 

The Third Sunday of Advent - Sunday 17 December

Sung Eucharist - 10.30am

Advent Conversations - 12.15pm

 

Saturday 16 December 

Christmas Carol Singalong - 12.15pm

 

Friday 22 December

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols - 7.30pm

 

Christmas Eve, The Fourth Sunday of Advent - Sunday 24 December

Sung Eucharist - 10.30am 

Blessing of the Crib - 1pm

Midnight Mass with the Bishop of Middleton (incense will be used during this service) - 11.30pm

 

Christmas Day - Monday 25 December - Live on BBC One and iPlayer

Sung Eucharist with the Bishop of Manchester (incense will be used during this service) - 10.15am

Doors open from 8.45am and congregation must be seated by 9.30am.

Bag searches will be in operation. Bags must be smaller than A4 size and no larger bags, luggage or rucksacks will be permitted.

Holy Eucharist with the Bishop of Middleton - 10.30am

 

The Feast of Epiphany - Sunday 7 January

Holy Eucharist - 10.30am

Epiphany Procession - 5.30pm
