Café Conversations about the European Referendum

Confused about how to vote in the European Referendum on 23 June? Frustrated with the in/out arguments? On Monday 9 May 2016, (6pm to 8pm), Manchester Cathedral presents a chance to talk about how the outcome of the Referendum will affect key areas of our national life, such as:

• Business and trade
• The Environment
• Immigration and refugee matters
• Higher education
• Farming and agriculture
• Charities

The Café Conversations format will involve small-group discussions, led by well-informed leaders in these fields from the Greater Manchester and the North West, on the pros and cons of Brexit as it affects their area of responsibility and expertise. The intention is not to argue for one or other view, but to inform thinking.

Discussions will be led by Mr Tony Lloyd, GMPCC and Interim Mayor of GM, Michael Taylor, External Affairs Advisor at the Vice Chancellor’s office of MMU, Mr Chris Fletcher, Policy and Marketing Director, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce; Ms Estelle Worthington, Regional Activism Co-ordinator, North West Regional Asylum Activism Project; Dr Ali Abbass, Chair of the Carbon Literacy Trust and David Hall, NW Regional Director of the National Farmers Union.
