Food Tasting Event - Hosted by the Challenging Hate Forum

On Tuesday 21 January at 2pm, the Challenging Hate Forum, which meets monthly at Manchester Cathedral, is hosting a special public event to help raise awareness of hate crime as part of Hate Crime Awareness Week (20-26 January 2014).

Hate crime is defined as any crime targeted at a person because of hostility or prejudice towards that person’s: disability, religion or belief, race, sexual orientation, subculture, trans and gender reassignment.

This is a public event to which we will welcome representatives of faith groups and organisations, the individuals and groups with whom they work, members of our Cathedral community and members of the general public.

The theme this year is ‘Food brings communities together’. Please have some fun! We hope that everyone will enjoy the event and perhaps learn something new about the various cultures that live in and around the City of Manchester through the types of food that they enjoy.
