Free coffee concert and organ recital this weekend!

Our FREE Coffee Concert and Organ Recital series continues this weekend!

Coffee concert – Saturday 10 June, 11am – 12noon

Ravi Nathwani - guitar

Ravi Nathwani is an exciting young British Asian guitarist currently in the first year of his Master’s degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying with internationally renowned guitarist Craig Ogden.

An accomplished chamber musician, Ravi was a member of the National Youth Guitar Ensemble, London Camerata from 2017 to 2018. Ravi currently has three duo collaborations: with violin, soprano and guitar. He has also performed with choirs, in guitar ensemble, with cellists and singers. Ravi is a strong advocate of new music and has an ongoing commitment to both performing contemporary music and to the commissioning of new pieces involving guitar.

This concert is free and will be followed by complimentary tea, coffee and cakes.

 

 

Sunday Organ Promenade Recitals – Sunday 11 June – 3-4.30pm

Geoffrey Woollatt, Sub-Organist at Manchester Cathedral

Geoffrey began his musical career as a chorister at Southwell Minster and subsequently attended Chetham’s School of Music. In January 2007, Geoffrey was appointed as Junior Organ Scholar at Manchester Cathedral, before becoming Organ Scholar at Chester Cathedral in 2018.

A year later, Geoffrey commenced his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. At the same time, he was appointed Assistant Organist at St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral in Glasgow, where he played regularly for the choir and was involved in broadcasts, recordings and many performances while he was there.

After several years as Assistant Organist at Chester Cathedral, he moved to Manchester Cathedral as Sub-Organist in 2015, where he accompanies the Cathedral Choir and directs the Cathedral Voluntary Choir.
