JCP Volunteer Programme The Volunteer and Employability Programme was launched on Thursday 26 April in the Nave of Manchester Cathedral. This is the first programme of its kind in the UK to run from a Cathedral – where employability and enterprise are the measures of success, alongside offering an amazing opportunity for local people to volunteer and connect with their heritage. We have brought in expertise and have worked closely with award winning volunteer programmes to develop a programme which is more progressive and will connect people to jobs in the city. Large and important employers in the city of Manchester such as the Manchester Arndale, Harvey Nichols, the Hilton and the Printworks have committed to guaranteed interviews and work placements and we will offer structured support to improve skills, employment and enterprise prospects for all volunteers with employability support from a wide range of partners such as Manchester College and The Broughton Trust.
