This Cathedral has a fascinating history dating back centuries and is also deeply involved in the life and culture of its wonderful city, Manchester.
Alongside the services each day you may be surprised to learn what an incredibly busy cathedral this is. There is a hugely exciting and varied programme of events, civic ceremonies, classical, pop and lunchtime concerts, science and history festivals, drama, school and university visits and much, much more.
If you would like to be part of the fantastic team of 100 volunteers and have 3 hours to spare each week then we would love to hear from you.
We have a variety of volunteering roles including welcoming visitors, guiding people around the Cathedral, stewarding at services, flower arranging, and general maintenance. This building is open 365 days a year and we strive to keep this Grade 1 listed building open and accessible to people of all faiths and none.
