On Saturday 24 March 2018 at 8.30pm, Manchester Cathedral will be turning off non-essential lights for one hour to support WWF’s Earth Hour.

Manchester Cathedral will unite with millions of people, cities, communities and landmarks around the globe in a global visual display of commitment to tackle urgent environmental issues and protect our planet.

The Dean of Manchester, The Very Reverend Rogers Govender said: “We are proud to take part in WWF’s Earth Hour again this year and are excited to be involved with such a great and inspiring event. Everyone can make a difference to help protect our planet and we all have a key role to play.”

We strongly encourage local communities and partners to make an Earth Hour promise and join the global lights out event for Earth Hour on Saturday 24 March at 8.30pm. Join us in showing your support for a brighter, better, more sustainable world.
