In the first of a new series, Canon Phillip Barratt, Precentor at Manchester Cathedral talks about his journey from the streets of the county to the door of the Cathedral and his own personal mission and that of the Cathedral which can date its origins to the 11th Century.

The programme opens with music from the Cathedral Choristers conducted by Organist and Master of the Choristers, Christopher Stokes.

Meditations is a trial programme testing how television and the internet can be developed to promote better understanding of the work of the Cathedral and its teaching of the Gospel and the interaction of God and Jesus Christ in the life of the city and beyond.
