Steven Hilton - New Cathedral Curate

We are delighted to announce that Steven Hilton will be joining the Cathedral Clergy Team as Stipendiary Curate at the end of June when he’s ordained Deacon.

Steven is originally from Brighton but has spent most of his adult life in London working in public relations, strategic communications and media training. He has worked for a range of companies and organisations including Lehman Brothers and The Royal Household. By the time he started exploring his calling to the priesthood, he was running his own consultancy supporting property firms, developers and investors. For part of his career, Steven was heavily involved with two major investors in central Manchester retail/office projects including Manchester Arndale.

Steven is Civil Partner to Marco, an architect from Abruzzo, Italy. Together they share custody of a rather nosey but gorgeous pug called Nelson. Steven likes cooking, travelling and gardening as well as gin.

Steven says: “We are both incredibly excited to be joining the community at Manchester Cathedral, and to becoming part of your great city and diocese. It is a real privilege to be invited by the Bishop of Manchester and The Dean to continue my formation and training in such a diverse and inclusive context. Like all curates, I have much to learn and very much look forward to working closely with Canon Márcia and the wider team, and meeting our new church family. Please pray for us as we prepare to join you and we will continue to hold the Cathedral and its mission and ministry in our prayers too.”

Steven is currently training at Ripon College Cuddesdon. Please keep Steven in your prayers as he approaches the end of his training and prepares to move to Manchester.
