Our new heating system will be the greenest Cathedral in the country because of the ground source heat pumps that will deliver 80% of our heating requirements in an environmentally sensitive way!
To make sure the heating works for the next 50-60 years, we need to switch it on very slowly indeed so that the floor underneath properly sets and cures. This means that it will not be fully functional till next year.
We plan to bring some air heaters before the services to warm the Cathedral up but we advise people to wrap up well.
