The Choristers of Manchester Cathedral Choir are singing to raise money for Comic Relief on Thursday 17 March 2011 (NB this is the day before Red Nose Day itself). They will be in Exchange Court in the Arndale Centre (just outside NEXT) shortly after 11.05 am.
The Choristers will all be wearing red noses - the perfect accessory for their chorister robes (red full length cassocks and white surplices)!
All the money they raise will go to help transform lives across the UK and Africa.
The Precentor of Manchester Cathedral, Canon Gilly Myers says: ‘Singing in red noses will pose quite a challenge for the Choristers’ breathing technique – and the reputed self-control and composure of these children will be severely tested as they follow the conducting of a similarly red-nosed Organist and Master of the Choristers!’
