The Booth Centre, in collaboration with the Mustard Tree Centre, has commissioned a short video film about the making of the 15 foot high processional giants, based on the figures of St. George and the Dragon in Mark Cazalet’s reredos painting for the Cathedral’s Fraser Chapel. These Spanish-style giants were originally made for the Cathedral’s special ‘Redcrosse’ event in May; by a team from the two Centres under the artistic supervision of Paul Devereaux. In the video they’re shown processing in this year’s Manchester St. George’s Day parade. We also have some photographs of them in the Manchester Day parade, where St George became a jungle 'discoverer', to fit the official theme of 'Discovery'.
