Vacancy for Cathedral Architect

The Dean and Canons of Manchester Cathedral are seeking to appoint a new Cathedral Architect to support and guide the Chapter in its care for, and development of, the fabric of the Cathedral Church over the next five years.

The role of Cathedral Architect is a statutory position and is the Chapter’s principal advisor on all matters relating to the fabric of our Grade I Listed Cathedral and its precinct. The individual appointed must be either a registered architect (RIBA) or a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors who is qualified as a chartered building surveyor (RICS). They should also possess appropriate qualifications and expertise in matters relating to the conservation of historic buildings.
