Friends of Cathedral Music

Friends of Cathedral Music exists to safeguard the priceless heritage of cathedral music, to encourage high standards in choral and organ music and to increase public knowledge and appreciation of cathedral music. Since its foundation in 1956, it has given over £1.8 million to cathedrals, church and collegiate choirs to support choral singing and has endowed many choristerships.

Members receive twice yearly magazines and have the opportunity to attend local and national events called “gatherings” in magnificent cathedrals. 

In 2020, Friends of Cathedral Music became part of Cathedral Music Trust, a voice for cathedral music, upholding this integral part of the nation’s cultural heritage by campaigning on behalf of cathedral music, supporting choirs and choristers in need, and encouraging the pursuit of excellence.
